New to Our Parish

We're a diverse people!

Our parish is made of people of many ages, backgrounds, and cultures that hold these things in common: love for God and love for each other. We are a parish for every person who is seeking to grow in Christ. Whether you have been Orthodox all of your life, you're new to the faith, or you're just seeking stability and truth, you have a home at St Nicholas.

While our parish has historical Russian and Slavic roots, you'll find that we fully embrace our mission here in America to bring the gospel to every nation, tribe, people, and language (Revelation 7:9). English is our predominant language, but you'll hear numerous languages spoken by our parishioners and parish friends. Our parish is home to immigrants from Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Japan, Germany, and other countries!

We have members who have moved to the greater Pittsburgh area from every part of the country. We have a large population of members who have embraced the ancient Orthodox Christian faith from many spiritual backgrounds and journeys.

We love kids!

St Nicholas enthusiastically pursues our misson to nurture our precious children in the Orthodox Christian faith. From our church school students to the littlest one in arms, you'll find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for children during our services. Our parents understand that it can be a blessed struggle to raise children properly in the Christian faith, and that includes worship! At St Nicholas you will find a supportive family to help.

We are grateful to God for bringing you to visit us here today -- we look forward to meeting you in person!

Our misson: St. Nicholas Church will strive to glorify God through Orthodox Christian worship, sincere love and care for one another, and service to those in need around us.

We are a parish of the Orthodox Church in America.
