St Nicholas Orthodox Church is a very vibrant Orthodox Christian community (OCA) in McKees Rocks, PA, just west of Pittsburgh PA. Our edifice was severely damaged by the storms that swept through the Pittsburgh area on 4/29/2025. One of our six domes fell to the ground, causing interior and exterior structural damage to our roof on the way down and landing on our fence. One of our stained glass windows was also blown in. We are seeking donations to help repair and rebuild the roof and domes of our 111 year old church. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

On Sunday, June 6, 2021, Subdeacon John Skowron was ordained to the Holy Diaconate by His Eminence Archbishop Melchisedek, Archbishop of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. In addition to Archpriest Thomas Soroka, Priest Alexis Torrance (a priest of the Patriarchate of Constantinople) and Deacon Peter Ilchuk (of Holy Ghost Church in Ambridge PA) served the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, in addition to our Deacon Luke Loboda. A festive luncheon was held in Fr Deacon John's honor after the Divine Liturgy.
